Headliners: Map Light vs Dome Light
Headliners: Map Light vs Dome Light
BE SURE TO CHECK WHICH STYLE HEADLINER YOU HAVE PRIOR TO ORDERING A NEW REPLACEMENT.
Most G-body cars came equipped with the dome light style interior lamp but a map light was available as an option in 86-88 cars.
Dome Light
The dome light is the most common interior roof light in G-body cars. It is a single element unit that is roughly 34-1/2" back from the front edge of the headliner (measured to the center of the lamp).
Map Light
The map light is more rare than the dome light, it was an option from factory. It is rectangular in shape and is roughly 27-1/2" back from the front edge of the headliner (measured to the center of the lamp).
