Center Console Floor Mount Brackets
The following article should be used as a reference when installing center console mounting brackets. Our measurements were done as exact as possible but there are very few square edges to measure from when doing this job. We recommend using our diagram as a guide, tack weld each bracket in place and then test fit your console before final welding of the brackets.
The photo below shows the factory locations of the center console floor mount brackets on a 1987 Monte Carlo SS.
The center support that extends from the driver's side to the passenger's side should exist on all models. We used the center tooling hole in the top of this support (in the hump section of this support) to measure from.
Center Console Brackets
USE THE FLOOR PAN BRACE AS A GUIDE:
a) 4-1/2" from the center of the tooling hole in the floor pan brace to the edge of the forward most console mounting bracket
b) 5-3/8" from the center of the tooling hole in the floor pan brace to the edge of the rear most console mounting
